FISHABOUT SEPT. 08 - Fortescue River Mouth

Back to the coast after Karajini National Park. Magic spot and only one other camper here. Camp near the boat ramp but far enough away to minimise the 'Sand Fly' population.

The first week was good fishing then the moon & tide cycles changed

Catching plenty of these fellow's all under size near the river mouth.

wahsed down by flood water from up near the Fortescue River Road House

Dead mangroves!

What a fish and even better eating as Sushmi and grilled on an open fire!

Got bent when I ran over it, dropped out of the tinnie at Titchilla.

early morning bike ride

The guys from Pannawonica mining built this boat ramp years ago, and got access thru Mardie or Balmoral Station.

This is what's left of the jetty used when wool was king! water depth at high tide 7 to 8 mtr, wool barged to ships offshore.

Hundereds of the Sturt Pea along the Highway and bush area's

The sea gull behind Sue only had one leg thus got heaps of scraps, and always near our tinnie

Had noticed the Finch activity behind our van, so checked it out but TO LATE!

Local visitor on our departure. This was are last real good fishing camp, as we got
"WINDY" conditions every where else down the Western Australia coast! Even the local's were complaning about the 'WIND"
